EarnLock — Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 May 2026
These terms supplement Apple's Standard EULA for App Store apps, which governs your right to use EarnLock alongside the App Store Terms of Service. Where these terms and Apple's EULA differ, Apple's EULA controls for the licensing and download mechanics; these terms add EarnLock-specific clauses for subscriptions, refunds, medical disclaimer, and liability.
1. Subscriptions and Premium purchases
EarnLock offers three Premium tiers:
| Tier | Price | Auto-renewal | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $1.99 / month | Yes (until cancelled) | 7 days |
| Yearly | $9.99 / year | Yes (until cancelled) | 7 days |
| Lifetime | $19.99 (one-time) | No (one-time) | None |
Local-currency equivalents are determined by the App Store. Prices may be adjusted by Apple per their currency-tier rules; the in-app paywall always shows the price you will be charged before you confirm.
Auto-renewal (Monthly and Yearly): Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Renewals are charged to the payment method on file with your Apple ID. Manage or cancel at iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions at any time. Cancelling a current subscription ends auto-renewal but does not retroactively revoke access for the period you have already paid for.
7-day free trial (Monthly and Yearly): When you start a Monthly or Yearly subscription for the first time, Apple grants a 7-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, you are charged the full Monthly or Yearly price at the end of the trial and on each renewal thereafter. Apple's one-trial-per-subscription-group rule applies — a user who has already used the trial on Monthly will not get a second trial on Yearly (or vice versa).
Family Sharing: Every paid tier (Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime) is Family Sharing eligible. The family organizer purchases once, then enables sharing for EarnLock in iOS Settings → your name → Family Sharing → Subscriptions / Purchases. Each family member (up to 5) sees EarnLock as available in their App Store account and can download it on their own devices at no extra cost. Family Sharing handles the billing entitlement only; activity data, blocked-app selections, and streak history remain local to each family member's device.
Lifetime: A single non-consumable purchase ($19.99) that grants Premium for as long as Apple supports the App Store account that bought it. There is no recurring charge, no auto-renewal, and no scheduled price change. If the Lifetime price ever changes in the future, the new price will be visible on the App Store listing and in the in-app paywall before you confirm — existing Lifetime owners are never re-billed.
Restore Purchases: If you change devices or reinstall the app, tap "Restore Purchases" on the paywall. EarnLock asks Apple for your current entitlements and updates locally.
2. Refunds
EarnLock cannot issue refunds directly. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their refund policy.
To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase, find the EarnLock charge, and select "Request a refund." Apple decides each request at their discretion.
We have no insight into the outcome of your request and cannot expedite, escalate, or supplement it.
3. Not medical advice
EarnLock is a digital-wellbeing tool, not a medical device.
- EarnLock is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Daily activity goals (step counts, active minutes, active energy) are user-configurable defaults from generally-known wellness guidelines; they are not personalized to any medical condition.
- If you have a heart condition, eating disorder, exercise-related injury, or any other condition that activity levels could affect, consult your physician before relying on EarnLock's prompts.
- The activity data EarnLock reads from Apple Health is the same data Health stores from your device's sensors; EarnLock does not measure anything itself, and we make no warranty about that data's medical accuracy.
If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency services. EarnLock will not contact anyone for you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use EarnLock for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any applicable local law.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code or product secrets of the app, except to the extent Apple's EULA explicitly permits.
- Use EarnLock to block apps on a device you do not own or are not authorized to manage. EarnLock authorizes Family Controls in the
.individualmode only (self-restriction); we never enable the.childmode and do not support managing another person's device through this app.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
EarnLock is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of HealthKit-derived measurements, and uninterrupted operation of Apple's frameworks that EarnLock relies on (HealthKit, FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, StoreKit, Live Activities, WatchConnectivity).
We do not warrant that EarnLock will block every app, every time, in every iOS state. Apple's Family Controls API has documented limits and edge cases (background, system updates, low-power mode, etc.) which may cause shields to render slowly or not at all. EarnLock is one tool in a larger digital-wellbeing toolbox, not a guaranteed enforcer.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EarnLock and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost data, distraction, missed deadlines, fitness outcomes falling short of expectations, or device-time consumed reading these terms, arising out of or related to your use of EarnLock.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to EarnLock is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim. For free-tier users, that amount is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
7. Termination
You may stop using EarnLock at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an auto-renewing subscription — cancel it at iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions to stop future charges.
We may discontinue EarnLock at any time. If we do, in-flight Lifetime purchases will be honored for as long as Apple maintains your App Store account; refunds for unused Monthly or Yearly time are at Apple's discretion via the refund process in section 2.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the EarnLock developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. The mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply where they grant you rights more favorable than these terms.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes. Material changes are described in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces them.
