Why I built this
Rebuilt from TheWait — by the person who shipped it.
I shipped TheWait years ago as a single-purpose countdown, and it kept growing into things its architecture couldn't support — Lock Screen widgets, StandBy, weather forecasts, smart checklists. Soon. is the full rewrite: new code, new icon, new name, same person at the keyboard. There is no team. One developer in Finland, designing, coding, and answering support email for every Lagerland app — including this one. If something doesn't work, email me directly and I'll fix it.

You pick the event type
Tap to add an event and choose a type — Trip, Wedding, Birthday, Pregnancy, Graduation, Move, Concert, Anniversary, Custom. Each type loads its own checklist template; nothing is generic. Custom events get a blank slate.

Soon. schedules the checklist backward from the date
Each template is a list of tasks anchored to the event date (T-90, T-30, T-14, T-3, T-1). When you save the event, Soon. places every task on its own calendar day backward from the date. You see the checklist; the schedule runs underneath.

Reminders fire on the day each task is due
If you enable event notifications (Premium), Soon. sends one notification per task on its scheduled day — never a daily nag, never a bundle. A trip in 30 days has a single 'book transport' nudge at T-30, not 30 daily reminders.

Weather pulls in as the date approaches
Premium adds destination weather. Soon. fetches the forecast for the location you set, using Apple WeatherKit. The request sends only a place name or approximate coordinates — never your precise location. Forecast appears in the countdown card from T-10 onward, when the forecast is meaningful.

Daily notes appear in the final week
Premium adds short, written daily notes that change between T-7 and T-0. Wedding events get different copy than trips. Notes are written once and shipped with the app — no AI generation, no surveillance.

The countdown becomes a memory
When the date passes, the event flips into a memory. On the same day next year (and every year after), Soon. quietly surfaces it on your Home Screen — a recurring anniversary countdown that costs nothing to maintain.
